Siegfried and Roy grew up in war-stricken Germany.
In a time of destruction and very little hope, Siegfried discovered his love for everything magic. Over the years, he refined his act and started his stage career as a magician aboard the German cruise ship TS Bremen.
What started as a small act would soon grow into a glorious career when Siegfried met Roy aboard the ship and asked him to assist him on stage. And it was on this ship that they started to perform together. Unfortunately, both were fired from the TS Bremen when they brought a live cheetah onto the ship. But again, luck would be on their side when they got scouted by a New York-based cruise line to perform as a duo for their passengers.
It was early 1967 when Siegfried and Roy presented their magic in Las Vegas for the first time. Their magical glitzy act stood out and helped to transform a small desert town into a sprawling glitzy metropolis. By 1988 Siegfried and Roy signed their first record-breaking deal with the casino developer Steve Wynn. For the next five years, they staged a Broadway-meets-Barnum & Bailey extravaganza at the Mirage.
Siegfried and Roy fulfilled a childhood dream with their newly found stardom and $57 million from the deal. Las Vegas new royalty found their home in an opulent compound they called the Jungle Palace and a 100-acre estate, Little Bavaria, outside of town. And this is where our Guest, Dennie Pasion, met Siegfried for the first time. But as always, let me not tell you but hand the microphone to Dennie to tell us about her time with Siegfried and Roy.

My chat with Ian Ivey, a guru in marketing and business strategies,
https://open.spotify.com/episode/423FkBVyiRvuH7BuKe53I7
In this episode of Be Bold and break the Mould, I’ll introduce you to Ian Ivey, who has been a good friend of mine for many years.
Ian is a firework of creative ideas, a guru in marketing and business strategies, but most of all, he is a great lecturer. He rekindles the spark of innovation, boosts the self-esteem and enthusiasm in everyone he meets.
He loves and respects nature and works closely with the native tribes in his home country New Zealand. He told me that, in his opinion, one of the most fascinating aspects of Maori culture and tradition is that their Whakapapa (ancestry). Whakapapa connects them with every living thing – plants, animals, humans, microbes, and everything else that is alive.
To Ian, it is something most humans forgot as they became disconnected from their Whakapapa. And only view ancestry in terms of human relatives disconnected from everything else on the planet.
“This leads to a place that is quite scary and could eventually lead to the extinction of the human race.
We overpopulate the planet, use resources up at a rate much higher than they are replaced.
As a result, polluting the land, sea, air, and water generates increasing amounts of toxic legacies nuclear waste, persistent chemical wastes like PFAs, heavy metals, 80,000 non-tested chemicals added to just about every product we use, plastic waste building up everywhere, including in our food chains. I am becoming more immersed in the indigenous culture here in N.Z. It teaches me so much about the fundamental basics of sustainability, i.e. we are connected to and interact with every other entity and the environment within which we live.”
