My interview with the award winning fellow writer Barbara Spencer .

Barbara Spencer

I am delighted for having the opportunity to share my  interview with the most courageous fellow writer Barbara Spencer with you today.  Barbara was born in Bowdon, Cheshire, grew up in Birmingham and could have lived a well-protected and ordinary life, but that was not for her.

Her love for cricket and an insatiable thirst to see the world brought her to the Caribbean Islands, New York, Greece and the Middle East.  She witnessed the Black Power Riots in the West Indies, the overthrow of the Greek Government by the military junta and the war in Lebanon.  Found herself trapped in a Beirut Hotel in the middle of a rocket attack and made her escape through a rain of bullets crouching on the floor of a taxicab.

Don't miss the Interview with the British writer Barbara Spencer on Saturday the 15th. of May 2021

Barbara Spencer was born in Bowdon, in Cheshire, grew up in Birmingham and could have lived an everyday and quiet life, but that was not for her.

Since her earliest youth Barbara was an avid cricket fan and would not miss a single match. She traveled to all the matches of her favorite team in Europe and later even the Caribbean.  She fell in love with the laid-back lifestyle and beauty of the islands and accepted a job offer as a teacher in a secretarial college in Barbados and Grenada.

But soon, her teaching career took her on to New York, Greece, France, and the Middle East.

Barbara remembers these years as the most fascinating time of her life. She was present at the Black Power Riots in the West Indies, witnessed the overthrow by the military junta in Greece and the war in Lebanon.  Found herself in the middle of a gunfire battle and fled Beirut, sitting on the floor of a taxicab.

After those wild years, Barbara decided to returned to Great Britain, where she became a qualified swimming teacher and judge. For many years she taught children to swim, lend her expertise to the Street & district Swimming Club, and watched her daughter train or compete for the rest of the week.  One day while sitting at the edge of the pool watching her daughter swim, Barbara began to write and has not stopped ever since. She writes the most fascinating stories in many different genres, is an avid blogger and travels throughout the UK for book signing events.
